Do you provide a template contract for a Manager?

We do not provide template manager contracts. The Non League Players’ Contract is a contract of employment drafted specifically for players. The terms and conditions set out in the contract relate to the rights and obligations of the club and the player, and the contractual relationship between the two parties. It is not intended nor drafted to accommodate non-playing roles within a club.

Some clubs have been known to use the contract for players with additional managerial/coaching roles, however by drafting a single agreement for the two roles (the status of a playing contract being the only one which would be recognised and registered by The FA), the club may incur unnecessary risk and financial liability. In the event of any dispute in relation to the applicability of the contractual clauses or any breach of those clauses, The FA would apply the clauses as set out and can only do so in relation to the status of a player in accordance with FA Rules.

You should seek your own legal advice as to the applicability of this form for the contracting of a player who is also a manager. The LMA may also be able to offer advice on structuring a manager's contract.
